How To Change Transmitter On Dexcom G6

Supersede transmitter without changing sensor?

Looks like son's G6 transmitter has gone - our get-go fourth dimension. It had a 3 week warning yesterday and today neither receiver nor telephone are receiving whatsoever data. If I can remove the transmitter without destroying the sensor (using examination strips) tin we alter just the transmitter? (So we don't waste a fairly new sensor?)

I did that last change. I idea the sensor had another ten days, only information technology notified me to modify during the warm up menses. I use Tslim so I updated the transmitter serial? number; removed the transmitter with a meter strip and installed. No problems.

Never did that, only would seem to me that you would continue as if installing a new sensor & transmitter while only actually replacing the transmitter. (?)

Yep, it works. I've done it a couple times since I don't keep good track of when my transmitter is about to dice. A examination strip is the best way to remove the old transmitter.

Thanks for the responses - actually appreciated. In the stop, having been without a sensor for most of the solar day I did rather panic and play it safe. - simply get the ii hours out of the way asap. I could encounter how to just change transmitter as per comments via the telephone only not the Dexcom reader (we use both as phone is locked during the day and just sends signal to united states of america). Volition contact them and ask for a replacement. It does issues me that we don't get any spare transmitter now till next batch comes - nosotros probably take to observe a spare on eBay. Dexcom seems keen but a chip fiddly!

You can go back and forth on which device you apply to do a restart (you just need to tell the other device which transmitter you are using and do a no code restart), but either style it should piece of work just like starting a new transmitter usually does. My blood brother has had to practise this a number of times as he pays no attending to the end of life warnings on the transmitter. Then far (3+ years on G6 if I recollect my start date correctly) I haven't encountered that problem, but at present I probably volition on my side by side alter!!!

I phoned Dexcom and they are sending a replacement sensor but not a new transmitter every bit they told me information technology is because we are using an incomparable phone! So, we tin find a low end Samsung from the list, hopefully, only if they won't send one how do I get hold of a replacement / spare transmitter? I take ix lost days apparently, and perhaps more than on the next 1 if using a Huawei P smart is really the cause ...? I have seen one for sale from United states on eBay are they the same?Why do people sell expired transmitters?
